Scamanda: Breaking Down Summer House’s Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s Shocking Romance

On March 31, Summer House stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson announced they were involved in a romantic relationship. The news came as a shock to both fans and cast members of the hit Bravo reality series. Batula, 34, has been involved with Summer House star Kyle Cooke since the series began, and their Sept. 2021 wedding and subsequent marriage have been well-documented. Wilson, 31, previously dated cast member Cierra Miller, Batula’s best friend, when he joined the series during its eighth season in 2023 before separating that December, and new episodes of the guilty-pleasure series depict Wilson making efforts to reconcile with Miller last summer.

Batula and Wilson released a joint statement on Instagram announcing their relationship:
"We've seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity," they said in the statement. "It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it."
"We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected," the statement continued. "Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care. As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."
More than two weeks later, Miller, 30, released a statement responding to her former best friend and ex-boyfriend’s relationship:
“It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors,” Miller said in the interview with Glamour, published April 17. “To experience it so publicly is like another layer, and then to have to see what you thought was your life still play out in season 10. It’s a major mindf---.”

Back in January, two weeks before the tenth season premiere of Summer House, Batula and Cooke announced their separation after four years of marriage and nearly 10 years together. Subsequent interviews suggest the couple separated in October 2025, shortly before BravoCon. Fans, who witnessed their toxic relationship for nine seasons, particularly Cooke’s partying and cheating, were staunchly on Batula’s side initially. However, the tide turned when Batula and Wilson announced their relationship. Fans are now outraged at the couple for betraying Miller, particularly Batula, who should have Miller’s back as her best friend and has seen the way West has hurt her.
The timing of Batula and Wilson’s announcement seems strategic. Fans had been speculating for weeks about them hooking up, and subsequent episodes of Summer House showcase questionable moments, like Wilson sitting on Batula, which is his “signature” move when he likes a girl, according to Miller. In retrospect, earlier episodes from this season, which showcased Wilson defending Batula in arguments with Cooke, suggest a connection may have developed as early as last summer, though Wilson has denied that rumor. Fans can’t help but wonder if the couple announced their relationship to save face before fans figured it out from the show. Viewers are now dissecting every moment between the two and wondering if the rest of season 10 will give more insight into Batula and Wilson’s budding romance.
